Citizens are expected to assist in the defense of the castle and the bow is a tool that nearly everyone can use. The archery range is place where citizens can sharpen their skills and practice with the regular soldiers. This building would be located near the village and the tower would serve as a lookout post and as part of the castle's outer defenses. The archery range features a stone walled yard where archers can practice. The building would also be used for making and repairing bows and for storing the large number of arrows required for defending the castle.
